At age 9 Vidicar travelled with his father Jin Madorso the Captain of the Mining Frigate Odessa on what should have been a routine mining expedition on Salah Vi.

Sadly the day turned out to be far from routine and would shape Vidicar's life in a cruel twisted way.

While setting up mining of the asteroid on Salah VI, the Odessa was beseiged by slavers. Jin used the esacpe pod to jettison Vidicar to safety but the Odessa was destroyed, or so it was believed.

After getting picked up by a passing freighter it took several weeks for Vidicar to return home to his mother Vienne but Vienne had, in the meantime, committed suicide in grief believing both her husband and son were both killed at Salah VI.

Raised by his Uncle Kyle untill was able to enroll in the academy, it wasnt until several years after his graduation that Vidicar found out that his father had indeed survived the slavers and had spent years working the pirate slaver ships until he became a Battlecruiser Captain.
