Charli Merke was born aboard a modest mining station on the outskirts of the Amarr Empire. She does not come from wealth, nobility, or any influential bloodline. Her family belonged to the countless workers who keep the Empire alive: miners, refiners, technicians, and barge pilots.
From an early age, Charli grew up surrounded by the hum of mining lasers and the endless glow of asteroid belts. The work was simple, repetitive, almost ordinary, but it taught her patience, discipline, and respect for the silence of space.
Where others saw only rock and ore, Charli saw something more.
She spent countless hours studying star maps and the strange cosmic signatures that occasionally appeared on the station’s scanners. Uncharted regions fascinated her far more than the wealth hidden inside asteroids.
Over time, she became a skilled miner, capable of funding her own independent operations. Yet mining was never her true purpose.
For Charli, it was merely the means to pursue what she truly loved:
exploration.
The first time she crossed a wormhole, everything changed.
On the other side, she found a place that felt ancient, silent, and untouched by time. Forgotten systems, abandoned structures, and unexplained anomalies awakened something deep inside her.
Charli seeks neither power nor riches.
Her ultimate goal is to discover a place in New Eden that remains truly unknown: an uncharted system, a forgotten station, or the remains of something older than the empires themselves.
She wants her name to be remembered as the one who found what no one else had ever seen.
“The universe is far too vast to have revealed all its secrets. One only needs to go far enough.”
